May in Bridgewater
May has been beautiful in western Connecticut, and the AJM Team has enjoyed their time spend in Bridgewater Connecticut. Bridgewater, CT is a quaint little country town, with a wonderful country store, and of course, chocolate line. It also is the place where our team will be working for the next few weeks, updating a septic system on a home off of Route 67, with a beautiful view overlooking the town of New Milford.
Site Specifics
This property, a newly purchased home, has an old septic that has failed. The home is located on a hillside, overlooking New Milford, and has a very steep backyard, so the original plan for our team was to place a new set of septic fields just off the back of the home, before the hillside drops off. There was just enough space to fit an Elgin Mantis septic system, without having to go down the steep embankment behind the home.
Unfortunately, once the deep holes were dug, the site proved unsuitable, and a new area needed to be selected for the system. By re aranging the design, our team will now add a pump chamber to the system, and place it in the front yard of the property, allowing it to still fit on the property, and even allowing the home owner to upgrade the system from a 2 bedroom to a 3 bedroom.
Progress Report
- Initial Septic System Design
- Soil Testing, Site Redesign
Due to difficulties with the site, a redesign is needed, and the owners decided to close this project at this time.
